New York African Film Festival Inc. is back in action for the summer.
This time around, NYAFF is partnering with public parks around the city, bringing to you the height of summer experience.
AFF has already launched the programme “Cinema Under the Stars” kicking off with the Cuban documentary film ‘When the Spirits Dance Mambo’ by Filmmakers Marta Moreno Vega and Bobby Shepard at Bronx Museum of the Arts. The film was about the West African influence on forming the Cuban society, culture and music.
The next in the series will take place at Queens Museum, NY, on 27th July featuring two films on Sudanese life, ‘Adam and Howa’ 2015 by Sarra Idris and ‘The Longest Kiss’ 2013 by Alexandra Sicotte-Levesque.

Film screenings will be followed by live music sessions by your favourite bands back from home adding warmth and nostalgia to the New York summer air all through the summer.
The Summer Series will come to a conclusion with the Family Day Celebration at the Governors Island on 10th September. African Film Festival Inc. and the Trust at Governors Island warmly invite you to join a fun-filled day of films, dance, games and folk music. All FREE! All celebrating Africa and the diaspora.
