In a recent turn of events, the longstanding tensions between director Ameer and producer Gnanavel Raja, dating back to the 2007 release of the film ‘Paruthiveeran,’ have resurfaced, garnering widespread attention and celebrity reactions.
The rift, originally stemming from issues during the film’s production, has escalated with Gnanavel Raja making derogatory comments about Ameer in a recent YouTube interview. Renowned director Bharathiraja has now stepped into the fray, expressing solidarity with Ameer amid the controversy.
Bharathiraja strongly condemned Gnanavel Raja’s remarks, characterizing them as an attempt to tarnish the reputation, name, and work of a significant creative force. He reminded Gnanavel Raja of Ameer’s pivotal role in elevating him to prominence within the film industry and highlighted Ameer’s directorial and production contributions, calling the producer’s comments an affront to creative minds like Ameer.
Highlighting Ameer’s directorial achievements, Bharathiraja emphasized that true creators continually evolve in their craft, expressing hope that Gnanavel Raja would apologize for insulting the work of a distinguished creator and encourage an amicable resolution to the ongoing dispute.
Gnanavel Raja has accused Ameer of submitting illegal documents during the production valuation of ‘Paruthiveeran,’ branding the director as a cheat. Additionally, Gnanavel Raja criticized Ameer’s film career, attributing his perceived failure as a director to alleged duplicity. Notable figures in the industry, including Sasikumar, Samuthirakani, Ponvannan, Snekan, and Karu Palaniappan, have already condemned Gnanavel Raja for his comments, with Bharathiraja being the latest to join the growing list of supporters rallying behind Ameer.
