Legendary filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan, known for his contributions to Indian cinema, has passed away at the age of 65. Sivan breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai, according to reports from Asianet News.
Sunny Deol, who collaborated with Sivan on films like ‘Zor’ and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’, expressed his condolences on social media. Sharing throwback photos from their time on set, Deol wrote, “Shocked to hear about the passing away of my dear friend @sangeethsivan. Can’t believe that you are no longer amongst us, but you will always be with us in our hearts and memories. Om Shanti my friend, may your family get the strength to overcome your loss.”
Sangeeth Sivan was born in 1959 to the esteemed photographer and cinematographer Sivan. He completed his studies at MG College and Mar Ivanios College before starting his career, initially working on documentaries. He was the elder sibling of National Award-winning cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan and renowned filmmaker Sanjeev Sivan. Sangeeth is survived by his wife, Jayashree, and children, Sajana and Shanthanu.
