In a continuing saga of acclaim, the Malayalam film ‘Manjummel Boys’ continues to enthrall audiences, its narrative weaving a spell that transcends geographical boundaries. Drawing accolades not only in its home state of Kerala but also in Tamil Nadu, the film has become a topic of fervent discussion on social media platforms.
Recently, director Chidambaram S Poduval unveiled some intriguing behind-the-scenes revelations, adding fuel to the curiosity of fans. One scene, in particular, featuring actor Sreenath Bhasi’s character, Subhash, emerging from a pit covered in grime, has left an indelible mark on viewers.
As per reports from Asianet News, director Chidambaram disclosed an unconventional method employed for Bhasi’s transformation in the said scene – the application of biscuit cream. Explaining the rationale behind this choice, Chidambaram elucidated that the scene demanded a dirt-covered appearance, ostensibly accrued during rainfall, thus eschewing the use of prosthetic makeup.
Chidambaram elaborated that Bhasi exhibited an extraordinary dedication to his craft, enduring ant bites while applying the biscuit cream, with makeup artist Ronex Xavier playing a crucial role in facilitating the transformation. This commitment to authenticity left fellow actor Soubin Shahir visibly impressed.
Alongside Bhasi’s stellar portrayal, ‘Manjummel Boys’ boasted a talented ensemble cast, including Soubin Shahir, Deepak Parambol, Khalid Rahman, Arun Kurien, Vishnu Raghu, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy, Lal Jr., and Abhiram Radhakrishnan.
