Renowned Bollywood producer Ritesh Sidhwani’s mother, Leelu Sidhwani, passed away on Friday night, leaving the industry in mourning. She had been admitted to Hinduja Hospital prior to her demise. In a somber display of solidarity, celebrities including Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar accompanied by Shibani Dandekar, Malaika Arora, and Amrita Arora, visited the hospital to pay their final respects.
According to a statement issued by the family, funeral arrangements were scheduled for the following day, with a prayer meet at the Sidhwani residence followed by cremation at Santacruz Crematorium. The statement expressed deep sorrow at the loss of Mrs. Leelu Sidhwani, specifying the time and locations for the prayer meet and cremation proceedings.
As news of the funeral spread, a stream of celebrities and friends from the industry began arriving to offer their condolences. Notable figures such as Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, and Kunal Kemmu were among those spotted at Ritesh’s residence, paying their respects.
Additionally, actors from the “Fukrey” franchise, Pulkit Samrat and Ali Fazal, attended the funeral, with Pulkit accompanied by his partner Kriti Kharbanda. Mouni Roy, Bhavana Panday, and other familiar faces from the entertainment world were also seen at the event.
Ritesh Sidhwani, known as Farhan Akhtar’s partner at Excel Entertainment, has been a significant contributor to Bollywood since his debut as a producer with the iconic 2001 film “Dil Chahta Hai,” continuing to deliver memorable movies throughout his career.
