Veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff recently took to Instagram to share a video that highlights the resilience of a construction worker enduring harsh weather conditions. The footage depicts the worker laboring on bamboo scaffolding high up on a building, undeterred by strong winds and heavy rain. Shroff’s heartfelt caption praised the worker’s dedication: “Working through heavy winds and rains….Asli mehnat isko bolte hai, Bhidu…Love and Respect for them 🙏 (This is what real hard work looks like, buddy…Love and Respect for them).” The video’s background noise of howling winds further accentuates the worker’s impressive efforts.
This gesture of admiration from Jackie Shroff, known affectionately as “Jaggu Dada,” underscores his deep respect for the everyday heroics of ordinary people. Despite a celebrated career spanning over four decades and more than 200 films, Shroff remains grounded and empathetic toward those less fortunate.
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, Shroff reminisced about his 33 years living in a modest chawl in Mumbai’s Teen Batti area before achieving fame. “I still get a little emotional when I talk about my old house and the time I spent there,” he confessed. Shroff continues to visit his former neighborhood frequently.
Recently, Shroff and his close friend and co-star Anupam Kher visited Shroff’s farmhouse outside Mumbai, surrounded by lush greenery. In a video shared by Kher, they reflected on Shroff’s journey from the Teen Batti chawl to his current serene residence. Kher remarked on the transformation, referring to Shroff’s new home as “Jannat” (paradise).
On the professional front, Jackie Shroff is set to appear in the upcoming films “Singham Again” and “Baby John.”
