Josh Brolin has openly discussed his exclusion from the star-studded cast of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which features Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Brolin, who previously portrayed Cable in “Deadpool 2,” shared his thoughts on not being part of the film’s latest installment. He revealed that he was not invited to reprise his role for the new MCU film.
Earlier this year, Brolin was surprised to find his name listed on IMDb credits for the film despite his lack of involvement. When asked if this implied his participation, Brolin responded, “Am I? Yes! I so wanted to be in that movie.”
While promoting the new season of his now-canceled Prime Video series “Outer Range,” Brolin elaborated on his absence, saying, “[Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than Outer Range will ever be, my friend. I’ll never know where that went or what I’m involved with or not involved with – given how vast the MCU has become.” He also expressed his enjoyment of playing Cable, calling the role “a blast.”
Brolin, known for his role as the MCU villain Thanos, is not part of the latest “Deadpool” film, which marks the franchise’s debut under the MCU. Despite his absence, the film has quickly become one of Marvel’s biggest hits, aiming for significant box office success within its first two weeks of release.
