Tusshar Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor, the prominent sibling duo of the Indian entertainment industry and children of legendary actor Jeetendra, have seen their relationship evolve significantly over the years. Their collaboration began in 2003 with the film Kucch To Hai, and they have since worked together on numerous projects. Their latest venture, Dus June Kii Raat, is currently streaming on OTT platforms, underscoring their ongoing professional partnership.
In a recent interview with News18, Tusshar Kapoor reflected on how their relationship has matured. He noted that they have become more professional compared to their earlier years, when they often clashed. According to Tusshar, they have learned to separate their personal and professional lives, which has improved their working relationship. He mentioned, “We used to argue a lot, but we have a much better understanding today,” emphasizing that their interactions are now more work-focused.
During the production of Dus June Kii Raat, Tusshar revealed that he had minimal interaction with Ektaa. Despite her role as one of the producers, their separate living arrangements meant their paths rarely crossed. He noted, “I didn’t interact with her during the making at all,” highlighting the professional boundaries they have set.
While Tusshar’s family, particularly Ektaa, is often linked with superstitious beliefs, he distinguishes between faith and superstition in his own life. Describing himself as “mildly and ritualistically superstitious,” he mentioned that he visits Tirupati Balaji before starting a new film out of faith rather than superstition. He also stated, “I’m not superstitious about pooja paths and dhaagas,” acknowledging his respect for family rituals without strictly adhering to them.
In an interview with the Times of India, Tusshar discussed the dynamic between his personal and professional relationships with Ektaa. He explained, “We are just like friends when it comes to our personal equation, but when we are working together, professionally, we give each other space. Like, I will act and you (Ektaa) produce. We have done a good track record of successful projects. This is the first time we both are doing a show for an outside platform (not for our home banner). So, I am very excited to see how it goes.”
Tusshar’s relationship with Ektaa extends beyond their professional work. In a past interview with Etimes, he revealed that Ektaa played a role in naming his son, Laksshya. “Ekta shortlisted a few names based on certain alphabets. Unmein se mujhe Laksshya unique laga; common nahi hai. So, we decided to go with that,” he said.
