Actor Kunj Anand’s journey from a photographer’s assistant to a well-recognized name in the acting world is a story of passion, dedication, and perseverance. Before gaining fame through projects like “Your Honor” and “Crash,” Kunj’s path began far from the spotlight. In 2017, he took on a job as a photographer’s assistant, a role that, while modest, played a crucial part in shaping his understanding of the visual elements of acting. Reflecting on that time, Kunj recalls, “I worked as a photographer’s assistant to get a grasp of lighting and posing in front of the camera. It was more about learning the ropes of the industry and understanding the technical side of things. I used to earn around ₹5,000 a month, which was more like pocket money. But I knew that this was just a stepping stone.”
Despite financial challenges, Kunj remained unwavering in his pursuit of an acting career. He was determined to avoid taking on a regular job, fearing it would detract from his time to rehearse and develop his craft. “My focus was always on honing my skills and preparing for opportunities in acting,” he explains. This commitment began to pay off when, in 2020, Kunj landed his breakthrough role as Harman Mudki in the show “Your Honor.” His portrayal of the antagonist earned him widespread acclaim, followed by significant roles in “Crash” and “Mumbai Diaries,” solidifying his reputation as a versatile actor.
In his most recent endeavor, Kunj stars as Ashish Khanna in the show “Pill,” where he takes on the challenging role of a whistleblower in a pharmaceutical scam. “Playing Ashish Khanna was a significant challenge, but also a rewarding experience. I had to immerse myself deeply in the world of pharmaceuticals and the ethical dilemmas faced by my character,” Kunj shares, highlighting his dedication to his craft.
