In a recent interview with Cyrus Broacha on his podcast, actor Angad Bedi revealed that his late father, former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi, was deeply upset when Angad shaved off his long hair early in his career. The decision to cut his hair was driven by professional reasons, as industry insiders advised him that his long hair would not suit his Bollywood career.
Angad, who gained prominence with his antagonistic role in the 2016 film ‘Pink,’ shared that his father’s anger lasted for 20 years, until the release of the film. Despite the professional success following ‘Pink,’ Bishan Singh Bedi did not speak to Angad during this period. It was only after ‘Pink’ was released that his father finally acknowledged Angad’s decision, telling him, “Son, now you justify your haircut to me.”
Angad Bedi, who was 19 when he cut his hair and was 33 at the time of ‘Pink’s release, described how the emotional rift with his father was challenging. Following the film’s success, his father reconciled with him, offered advice on choosing films wisely, and expressed pride in his son’s achievements. Angad also mentioned that although many people have suggested he grow his hair out again, he plans to do so eventually.
