National award-winning director Mansore, also known as Manjunath Somashekara Reddy, is facing legal trouble as his wife, Akhila, filed a dowry harassment case against him on Sunday. The complaint, lodged at a police station in Bengaluru, accuses Mansore and his mother of pressuring Akhila’s parents to provide a car worth ₹30 lakh.
Akhila’s allegations in the FIR include claiming that her family had already given Mansore ₹10 lakh during the Covid-19 pandemic to support the completion of his film, following his request for financial assistance. Notably recognized for his work on unconventional films like Naticharami, ACT 1978, and 19.20.21, Mansore has not yet commented on the accusations.
The case adds a legal dimension to the personal turmoil surrounding Mansore, whose creative contributions have earned him national acclaim in the film industry.
