ETimes rated the film 3.5 out of 5 and wrote, “Just when you think Fahadh Faasil—or FaFa—has aced some of the best characters he could possibly get in his career, he goes all out as Ranga in writer-director Jithu Madhavan’s goofball gangster film Aavesham. Jithu Madhavan has already shown that he knows how to do things differently and with style with his debut horror movie, Romancham. He has delivered another unique comedy with Aavesham.”
