Actress Shinnova has taken legal action to establish actor-politician Ravi Kishan as her biological father. The 25-year-old has reportedly filed a civil suit in a Mumbai court and is demanding a DNA test to confirm her claim. She has asked the court to officially recognize her as Kishan’s daughter, born from his relationship with Aparna Soni.
In her plea, Shinnova urged the court to decree her as the actor’s biological child and sought a permanent injunction preventing him from denying her lineage. She has also initiated a writ petition before the Bombay High Court to annul an FIR filed against Soni and others in Uttar Pradesh after she revealed her paternity.
The FIR, registered in Lucknow under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including criminal conspiracy and intentional insult, was filed by Kishan’s wife Priti Shukla just three days before Shinnova’s legal action. Her legal representatives, Ashok Sarogi and Jay Yadav, argued that the FIR’s jurisdiction in Lucknow was unjustified, as all involved parties are residents of Mumbai.
According to the civil suit filed in the Dindoshi court in Malad, Soni, a journalist, reportedly had a romantic relationship with Kishan after encountering various personalities from the film industry. They allegedly got married in 1991 but separated due to undisclosed personal issues. Shinnova was born on October 19, 1998, during their union.
The plea claims that Kishan and Soni had agreed that their child would refer to the actor as “uncle”. However, Shinnova asserts that both parents fulfilled their responsibilities towards her.
Recent allegations came to light when Shinnova and Soni visited Kishan to convey their regards for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Kishan allegedly displayed hostility and declined to meet them. A subsequent press conference was called to assert Shinnova’s rights as Kishan’s biological daughter.
The civil suit in the Dindoshi court is scheduled for a hearing on April 25, while the writ petition is expected to be deliberated upon by the Bombay High Court in the forthcoming week.
