Veteran actor Ravindra Berde, known for his significant roles in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, breathed his last today after a prolonged struggle with throat cancer. The 58-year-old actor succumbed to a fatal heart attack at his residence. Berde had been undergoing cancer treatment and was brought home, where the tragic incident occurred.
Berde, who starred alongside Ajay Devgn in the 2011 Rohit Shetty directorial ‘Singham,’ played the character of Zamindar Chandrakant in the acclaimed cop drama. Devgn, expressing his grief on X (formerly Twitter), stated, “Absolutely saddened to hear about Ravindra Berde Ji’s passing this morning. Truly a timeless performer. Sending my heartfelt condolences to his entire family; may his soul rest in peace.”
Throughout his illustrious career, Ravindra Berde left an indelible mark with notable roles in films such as ‘Aayatya Gharat Gharoba,’ ‘Pachadlela,’ ‘Thartharat,’ ‘Bhutacha Bhau,’ ‘Shodh,’ ‘Khatarnak,’ ‘Nayak,’ and ‘Yeshwant.’ Berde, the brother of late Laxmikant Berde, is survived by his wife, two children, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.
