Renowned music director turned actor, GV Prakash Kumar, is set to captivate audiences in his upcoming lead role in the film ‘Rebel,’ directed by Nikesh RS. The movie, featuring Mamitha Baiju in her Tamil debut, is scheduled to hit theaters on March 22nd. In a recent interview leading up to the film’s release, GV Prakash shared a delightful encounter involving his maternal uncle and music legend, AR Rahman.
During a conversation with Behindwoods TV, GV recounted a memorable moment that unfolded just four days ago. He revealed receiving a call from AR Rahman while on a film shoot, expressing his excitement as Rahman praised his work on the Dhanush starrer ‘Captain Miller.’
“He said to me that the background score of ‘Captain Miller’ was very nice; I watched it recently. That’s the first time he wished me on a call in my 17-year-long career,” shared GV Prakash. He emphasized that while his uncle had previously called him for various invitations and meet-ups, this was the first time Rahman personally called to appreciate his musical contributions. GV described the experience as a “flying moment” and expressed his joy as a musician.
Directed by Arun Matheswaran, ‘Captain Miller’ featuring Dhanush, Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Aditi Balan, Sundeep Kishan, Edward Sonnenblick, and John Kokken, was released on January 12, 2024.
