In a remarkable tale of resilience, Blessy’s much-anticipated film ‘Aadujeevitham’ is set to hit the screens, featuring the phenomenal Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, adapted from Benyamin’s novel of the same name. The journey of bringing this ambitious project to life was not without its challenges, particularly during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
Recounting the arduous experience, Blessy shared insights into the trials faced during the production, stating, “With lots of dreams and expectations, we landed in this desert. But, the news that the entire world has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic really scared us, and for some 60 odd days, we were isolated in this desert.” The filmmaker highlighted the gravity of the situation, revealing that March 9, 2020, marked the day they arrived in Jordan for the second schedule.
Despite contemplating the possibility of postponing the shoot, Blessy credited Prithviraj Sukumaran’s incredible dedication to the role, where he underwent a remarkable weight loss of almost 30kgs. This commitment played a pivotal role in the decision to continue the shoot rather than delay the project.
Describing the challenging conditions of being stranded in the desert, Blessy shared, “We were on this huge desert staying in these tents, about 75 people consisting of our Indian crew and Jordanian crew. We had to quarantine ourselves there. As days passed by, we realized that the people in our group were feeling low, later we all got together to collectively find a solution.”
‘Aadujeevitham,’ a survival drama, is scheduled for release on April 10, promising audiences a cinematic journey that goes beyond the screen, encapsulating the perseverance and determination exhibited by the cast and crew in the face of unprecedented challenges. Prithviraj Sukumaran’s transformative dedication to the role becomes a symbol of the unwavering spirit that kept the production moving forward against all odds.
