Veteran actor Bobby Deol, renowned since the 1990s, has recently captured the spotlight with his dynamic performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film “Animal.” This role marks a significant comeback for Deol in the film industry. Alongside his cinematic resurgence, Deol has been sharing stylish photos on social media, showcasing his toned physique. In a candid interview, he revealed his passion for shopping and the pivotal role Salman Khan played in revitalizing his career.
In an interview with Curly Tales, Bobby Deol discussed his desire to appeal to a younger audience who were unfamiliar with his earlier work. He acknowledged that teaming up with Salman Khan was a strategic move to gain visibility among the youth. “I knew that if I worked with Salman, they would all go to watch the film, and they would notice this actor called Bobby, and it worked,” Deol recalled. He added that his appearance in the comedy “Housefull 4” significantly boosted his popularity, especially among children.
Deol also highlighted his impactful role in Prakash Jha’s web series “Aashram,” which he believes was a turning point in his career. “OTT platforms gave me the opportunity to play characters I had longed to portray. It began with ‘Class of 83,’ followed by ‘Aashram’ and ‘Love Hostel.’ These projects collectively propelled my career forward,” he explained. He also shared that a photograph of him caught the eye of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, leading to his casting as Abrar in “Animal.”
Reflecting on his childhood, Bobby Deol admitted to being a “shopaholic” and reminisced about his early aversion to shopping. As a child, he struggled with his weight and often found that kids’ clothing did not fit him. Shopping with his mother, Parkash Kaur, was frustrating because he had to opt for adult sizes, which fit poorly in length despite fitting his waist.
Deol’s attitude towards shopping changed at age 15 after he grew taller and lost weight. During a shopping trip with his father, Dharmendra, they bought clothes in their sizes without trying them on, and they fit perfectly. This experience ignited his love for fashion. He also developed a passion for sunglasses, inspired by his father’s iconic looks in films.
Currently, Bobby Deol is engaged in multiple projects across different languages. He is filming for Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming movie alongside Sanya Malhotra and has joined the YRF Spy Universe. According to Pinkvilla, Deol will star in an untitled female-led spy film with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.
