In a recent development, director Prasanth Varma has been making waves in the headlines following the phenomenal success of his film ‘Hanu Man.’ The mythological Telugu superhero movie, released in theaters on January 12, has surpassed Rs 200 crore in box office earnings. Serving as the inaugural installment of Varma’s cinematic universe, the film has sparked anticipation with the announcement of its sequel, ‘Jai Hanuman.’
Taking to social media on January 22, Varma shared the exciting news of ‘Jai Hanuman,’ revealing it to be a pan-Indian project. The latest buzz surrounding the sequel is the inclusion of a prominent Bollywood actor in the lead role.
In a recent interview with Zoom Entertainment, Varma disclosed that discussions have been underway with several actors for pivotal roles in the film. The director emphasized the participation of significant actors, potentially from various regions across the country. Notably, the lead role is confirmed to be portrayed by a Bollywood star. Varma assured that detailed cast information would be announced soon as discussions progress.
While scripting for the sequel is already in progress, Varma outlined the upcoming tasks involving makeup, look tests, and other essential details. Expressing the significance of casting a well-established star, he emphasized the film’s connection to the sentiments of the entire nation. Varma underscored the need for a Bollywood actor with a substantial historical presence and confidence to carry the weight of the lead role.
‘Hanu Man’ featured Teja Sajja in the lead role, alongside a cast comprising Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai. Additionally, Varma has ambitious plans for his next superhero venture titled ‘Adhira.’
