Despite the excitement surrounding the event, King Charles will be absent as he continues his cancer treatment. The palace confirmed that a pre-recorded message from the monarch will be played during the service, emphasizing the significance of the occasion. The Commonwealth Day reception aims to celebrate the global network of 56 countries under the theme “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Commonwealth.”
Queen Camilla and Prince William are slated to attend the event, while Kate Middleton, who is still in recovery following abdominal surgery in January, will not be participating. Kensington Palace stated that the Princess of Wales is expected to resume public duties after Easter.
