In a week since the theatrical debut of Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut, “Madgaon Express,” and Randeep Hooda’s directorial venture, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” both films have faced challenges in attracting audiences to cinemas. However, “Madgaon Express” has shown a stronger performance at the box office compared to “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.”
According to Sacnilk, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” is estimated to earn approximately Rs 1.15 crore on its seventh day of release, while “Madgaon Express” is expected to garner around Rs 1.20 crore. The total earnings for “Madgaon Express” and “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” so far stand at Rs 11.35 crore and Rs 13.50 crore, respectively.
Despite both films showing similar growth trends in their box office collections, “Madgaon Express” has consistently maintained a lead over “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” emerging as the clear winner in this box office clash.
“Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” delves into the life of Indian freedom fighter and politician V. D. Savarkar, with Ankita Lokhande portraying the role of Savarkar’s wife, Yamunabai. On the other hand, “Madgaon Express” follows the adventures of three childhood friends, played by Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary, on a trip to Goa that takes unexpected turns.
In an effort to boost ticket sales and attract a larger audience, the producers of both films have introduced a Buy 1 Get 1 offer on tickets, aiming to increase footfalls in theaters and bolster box office collections.
As the competition continues in the cinematic arena, the performance of these films in the days ahead will be closely monitored to gauge their resilience against audience expectations and industry challenges.
