New details have surfaced regarding the late actor Matthew Perry’s will, following his passing five months ago. Perry, renowned for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on the popular sitcom Friends, left behind an estate valued at $1 million. Lisa Ferguson and Robin Ruzan have been named co-executors responsible for managing the estate, which will be held in the Alvy Singer Living Trust, named after a character from Woody Allen’s film Annie Hall.
Perry’s will, drafted in 2009, designates beneficiaries including his father John Perry, mother Suzanne Morrison, half-sister Caitlin Morrison, and Rachel Dunn. Notably, the will stipulates that any potential children Perry may have had would not inherit his estate, although he had no children at the time of his passing.
Records indicate Perry possessed personal property exceeding $1 million upon his death. Robin Ruzan, one of the appointed executors, previously served as the executive producer of the game show Celebrity Liar, where Perry appeared in 2010.
Matthew Perry passed away on October 28, 2023, at his Los Angeles residence, with his death ruled accidental. The autopsy attributed his passing to the acute effects of ketamine, alongside drowning and coronary artery disease. Despite reportedly maintaining sobriety for 19 months, Perry was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy at the time of his death.
Perry’s memoir has experienced a surge in sales following his passing, highlighting the enduring popularity of his work. The unveiling of his will provides insight into the arrangements made for his estate and underscores the complexities involved in managing assets posthumously, reflecting the challenges faced after his untimely demise.
