Renowned Tamil actor Dhanush took to social media to express his heartfelt gratitude as his 2012 blockbuster ‘3’ received an exceptional response during its recent theatrical re-release.
The psychological romantic film, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, has gained iconic status in Dhanush’s filmography and marked the debut of acclaimed music composer Anirudh Ravichander. The movie, which returned to theaters across Chennai, witnessed sold-out shows and positive feedback from fans.
In a recent Twitter update, Dhanush shared his emotional reaction to the overwhelming response: “‘3’ Re-release response: Emotional, thankful, and overwhelmed. A million thanks. ♥️♥️????????”
The film, known for its intensive narration and emotional depth, not only served as Anirudh’s debut but also marked Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s directorial entry and Dhanush’s inaugural venture as a producer. ‘3’ revolves around the story of Ram and Janani, high school sweethearts whose marriage takes a tragic turn when Ram dies by suicide. Janani embarks on a journey to uncover the mystery behind his untimely demise. The film garnered widespread acclaim for its performances, music by Anirudh Ravichander, and cinematography.

Upcoming Projects: Dhanush is gearing up for his next project, the period action film ‘Captain Miller,’ directed by Arun Matheswaran. The movie, featuring an ensemble cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, and Vinoth Kishan, is set to be released in three parts, with the first installment hitting the screens in January 2024.
Additionally, the acclaimed actor is set to star in his 50th venture, tentatively titled ‘D50.’ Dhanush will not only act but also direct the film, marking his second directorial venture in the industry.
