In a remarkable turn of events, Nagini Bharana, the esteemed spouse of acclaimed director and thespian Nagabharana, is basking in the joy of her newfound role as a director. Her inaugural cinematic venture, titled “Genius Muttha,” is reportedly drawing inspiration from real-life narratives, delving into the fascinating world of a child prodigy.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Nagini shares, “The film is about a child prodigy, and we take a look at the life of one such genius in our midst.”
Nagini, who has been an integral part of her husband Nagabharana’s journey in the film industry for an impressive 36 years, reveals that donning the director’s hat for her first mainstream film did not feel unfamiliar. She reflects on her extensive experience, stating, “I have been with my husband when he’s directed, in the studio, at music recordings, production, designed costumes, and sometimes, Bharana would even leave me to helm his serials on my own. He’s my guru, and I owe him so much of my learnings.”
With a background in directing documentaries, Nagini emphasizes that this venture does not feel new to her, asserting, “I felt totally at home.”
A noteworthy aspect for Nagini is the active involvement of her entire family, including Nagabharana and her son Pannaga Bharana. Additionally, some of her close friends, such as Girija Lokesh, Sundar Raj, and Vijay Raghavendra, have also contributed to her movie.
This directorial debut by Nagini Bharana promises to be a family affair, weaving together the talents and experiences of those closest to her.
