In one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the year, Shivarajkumar’s Bhairathi Ranagal, a prequel to Mufti, is poised to grace the silver screen on August 15th, setting the stage for a box-office clash with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa – 2. Director Narthan revealed that approximately 70% of the filming process has been completed, with post-production work soon to follow.
Discussing the film’s origins, Narthan explained, “In Mufti, Shivarajkumar’s character emerges in the second half and takes charge. However, audiences were left wanting more from that ‘small story,’ prompting demands for an expanded narrative. As I delved into crafting the backstory of Bhairathi Ranagal, I found it irresistible. As we all know, his black attire became a style statement. This movie will delve into what transformed Bhairathi into a gangster and what led him to choose that distinctive black-on-black look.”
Narthan further highlighted the casting process, stating, “When seeking a perfect antagonist to match Shivarajkumar’s swag, Rahul Bose was the only name that came to mind. He has exceeded our expectations.”
Bhairathi Ranagal boasts a diverse cast and crew hailing from various parts of India, adding to the film’s anticipation and appeal.
