Pavithra Lakshmi and VJ Ashiq Hussain Play Key Roles in the Youthful Tale
In a cinematic venture that explores the vibrancy of youth, Shariq Hassan, Aran, and Ammu Abhirami take center stage in actor-director Aran’s maiden film, “Jigiri Dosthu.” Joining them in pivotal roles are Pavithra Lakshmi and VJ Ashiq Hussain.
Aran, formerly an assistant to renowned filmmaker Shankar, emphasizes the film’s focus on challenging stereotypes surrounding today’s youth. He remarks, “Nowadays, people think lowly of youngsters, but there are many 2K kids who are responsible and brilliant. This movie talks about the power of youth, friendship, comedy, and love.”
The narrative unfolds as three friends embark on a trip to Mahabalipuram, only to encounter the kidnapping of a girl along the way. Aran shares, “They decide to rescue the girl, and what happens next forms the plot.” The trio employs their wit and resourcefulness, utilizing a phone-tapping device named “terrorist tracker” to locate the villain.
Supporting the main cast are Anupama Kumar, Gautham Sundararajan, Jaangri Madhumitha, the late RNR Manohar, KPY fame Sarath, and Durai Sudhakar. The film’s music is composed by Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy, with cinematography by Saran RV.
