In her latest revelation, actress and model Emily Ratajkowski opened up about her use of cosmetic injectables in an effort to combat the effects of aging. Ratajkowski, known for her roles in both acting and modeling, humorously shared that despite undergoing Botox treatment, she still takes pride in the fact that her face maintains its natural mobility.
The 31-year-old celebrity, who pursued a brief stint in fashion at UCLA before delving into a full-time modeling career, expressed her initial lack of ambition for fame. Her decision to enter the world of modeling was influenced by her parents, both of whom were involved in creative industries.
“I didn’t want to be famous. I had no plans. I wasn’t thinking about a career, I was thinking about saving money. But the saving money was to be able to do what I actually wanted to do, which was make things, basically,” Ratajkowski revealed.
Despite gracing the covers of various men’s magazines and achieving widespread recognition, Emily Ratajkowski emphasized her refusal to be viewed through the lens of the “male gaze.” Over the past two years, she has adopted a more carefree attitude, learning to prioritize her own happiness and caring less about external opinions.
“In the past two years, how I feel is I just care a whole lot less what people think. So, if I am in a certain type of mood where I want to post something or wear something that I could be judged for because it’s, quote-unquote ‘desperate’, I’m a little bit like, ‘Well, that’s where I’m at,'” she stated.
Acknowledging the transformative impact of motherhood, with a two-year-old son named Sylvester from her previous relationship with Sebastian Bear-McClard, Ratajkowski highlighted that she now focuses on more significant aspects of life than societal expectations.
“I’ve learned to prioritize my own happiness, probably because of my son. I feel I have bigger fish to fry than caring about the politics of whether or not I’m appealing to the male gaze in a given moment,” she concluded.
