In a recent revelation, Emraan Hashmi, known for his roles in Bollywood, disclosed that he was the initial choice for the lead role in the highly successful romantic film “Aashiqui 2.” The Aashiqui franchise, renowned for its iconic romantic films, first gained prominence in 1990 with Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The 2013 release of Mohit Suri’s “Aashiqui 2,” starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, became a massive success.
Hashmi shared that Mohit Suri had initially approached him for the film, but he believed the role would be better suited for actors with a fresh appeal and no pre-established image. Emraan expressed no regrets about turning down certain roles, stating that they were never meant for him. Notably, Hashmi and Suri had collaborated on six previous films, including ‘Zeher,’ ‘Kalyug,’ ‘Awarapan,’ ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues,’ ‘Crook,’ and ‘Murder 2,’ followed by ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ in 2015.
