Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi, acclaimed for his directorial work on ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Dhoom 2,’ tragically passed away on Sunday, November 19, due to a sudden heart attack. The shocking news sent ripples through the film industry, prompting an outpouring of grief from celebrities who took to their social media platforms to express their condolences.
According to the latest reports, the final rites for the late director are scheduled for today, with an anticipated attendance of numerous fans, friends, and industry insiders. The funeral and cremation ceremony will take place at the Oshiwara Crematorium Ground in Mumbai, set to commence at 10:30 AM. Attendees, including guests, family, and friends, have been allocated specific time slots to pay their last respects.
Gadhvi’s daughter, Sanjina, revealed that the director was in “perfectly healthy” condition before the sudden and unexpected incident. She shared, “He passed away at 9:30 am this morning at his residence. We are not sure what it is, but it is most likely a heart attack. He wasn’t unwell; he was perfectly healthy.”
Following the news of his demise, members of the ‘Dhoom’ star cast expressed their shock and sorrow on social media. Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who collaborated with Gadhvi on ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Dhoom 2,’ shared emotional sentiments and unseen pictures from their time on set. He recounted his recent conversation with the director, expressing disbelief at the turn of events.
In a heartfelt post, Bachchan wrote, “I’m shocked beyond belief. You had faith in me, even when I didn’t. You gave me my first ever hit!!! I can never ever forget that or be able to express what it meant to me. I will cherish your friendship always. Rest in peace, my brother.”
Director Kunal Kohli, known for films like “Hum Tum” and “Fanaa,” was among the first to convey condolences on social media, stating, “This is beyond shocking. #SanjayGadhvi RIP never thought I’d have to write your obituary.
