In recent developments, renowned singers Gippy Grewal and Diljit Dosanjh have come forward to address ongoing rumors of a rift between them. Speculations about discord surfaced amidst their notable absence from collaborative projects. However, in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gippy debunked these rumors, asserting a cordial relationship between the two.
Gippy reminisced about a significant incident at a Punjab awards show where singer Gurdas Maan, amidst his performance, took a moment to highlight Gippy and Diljit sitting together. Maan emphasized their camaraderie, urging them not to let hearsay affect their friendship. Both artists were taken aback by Maan’s intervention, with Diljit later taking the stage to affirm their friendship.
The genesis of the rift rumors, Gippy explained, stemmed from their post-“Jihne Mera Dil Luteya” collaboration hiatus. Following the success of the project, both artists ascended in the industry, rendering joint ventures financially challenging for producers.
While Gippy admitted to conversing more frequently with Honey Singh and Badshah compared to Diljit, he emphasized that lack of closeness doesn’t imply animosity. He recounted an encounter where his son met Diljit for the first time, only for Diljit to recall meeting him as a newborn at a Lohri celebration organized by Gippy.
On the professional front, Diljit recently starred in “Amar Singh Chamkila” alongside Parineeti Chopra, while Gippy was featured in the Punjabi film “Jatt Nuu Chudail Takri.”
