In a recent turn of events, the team behind the highly anticipated Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer, ‘Fighter,’ has submitted a request for re-certification to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Initial reports from Bollywood Hungama had already highlighted that the film had undergone four modifications during the censoring process.
The latest information discloses that the filmmakers have opted to eliminate the song ‘Ishq Thoda Thoda Dono Jagah,’ which had a runtime of 2 minutes and 38 seconds. The CBFC approved the deletion on Monday, January 22, resulting in a revised total duration of 163.55 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours, 43 minutes, and 55 seconds. The film originally had a runtime of 166.35 minutes, or 2 hours, 46 minutes, and 35 seconds.
Directed by Siddharth Anand and featuring Anil Kapoor alongside the lead pair, ‘Fighter’ is scheduled for a global theatrical release on January 25. According to CBFC regulations, any alterations to the film, whether additions or removals of scenes, necessitate re-certification.
This occurrence is not unprecedented in the film industry, as seen with the film “Tiger 3.” After its initial certification on October 27, the movie underwent a similar re-certification process. Yash Raj Films, on November 4, incorporated a 2-minute and 22-second scene featuring a cameo by Hrithik Roshan. Following CBFC approval, the final runtime of “Tiger 3” was adjusted to 156 minutes (2 hours and 36 minutes), an increase from the original duration of 2 hours and 33 minutes. These developments were reported by Bollywood Hungama.
