Suriya is a leading hero in Tamil cinema. His latest film, “Kanguva,” was a grand production that was recently released. The film was directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by Studio Green Gnanavel Raja. Along with Suriya, the film also starred Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Karunas, and Natty Natraj.The highly anticipated film received mixed reviews from the public. This has affected the film’s box office collection.
It is being reported online that the film has incurred a loss of over 100 crores, despite having collected over 108 crores worldwide. In this regard, director, producer, and actor Chithra Lakshmanan has spoken openly about it. “The total budget of the film ‘Kanguva’ was Rs. 170 crore. The OTT and satellite rights were sold even before the film’s release, which brought in a significant amount for the producer. It was expected to make a large amount of money through theaters, but that didn’t happen. ‘Kanguva’ turned out to be a flop. However, the film did not suffer any major losses,” he said.
The movie still visually stunning film that offers some entertaining moments. However, its clear that film’s potential has been squandered due to poor direction and writing. Suriya has outdone himself when it comes tohis performance as kanguva the warrior. He absolutely flawless in the film and has gone above and beyond to live roles of kanguva and franchis.
Bobby deol is superb as the villain too but siva has not used him to his full potential in the movie. Disha Patani doesn’t have too much to do in the film. Kanguva has been in the making of several years and expectations were high give the producer said it would mass 2000crores at the box office. But the film by siva just doesn’t do justice to his performance and commitment.
