In a recent turn of events, actor Jon Voight has expressed his disappointment with his estranged daughter, Angelina Jolie, for her outspoken views on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Voight accuses Jolie of spreading what he calls “lies” on social media regarding the ongoing war in the region.
Angelina Jolie has been actively calling for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza, condemning the surprise attack by Hamas militants on Israel last month. In a post on Instagram, she criticized the bombing of the civilian population in Gaza, stating that it cannot justify the innocent lives lost.
Jolie further accused Israel of “deliberately bombing” a “trapped population” and claimed that they are being deprived of essential resources like food, medicine, and humanitarian aid, which she argued goes against international law.
Voight, in a three-minute video posted on X, expressed his disappointment with his daughter’s views on the conflict. Seated in front of an American flag, he countered Jolie’s statements, emphasizing the Israeli army’s duty to protect their soil and people during times of war.
Voight criticized what he called Jolie’s “lies” and questioned her understanding of God’s honor and truths. He framed the conflict as a matter of justice for the land of the Jews and insisted that the Israeli army must defend itself against inhuman terror.
“The Israeli army must protect thy soil, thy people. This is war. It’s not going to be what the left thinks; it can’t be civil now,” Voight declared. He addressed those who criticize Israel, stating, “You fools calling Israel the problem, you should look at yourselves and ask, ‘Who am I? What am I?'”
Voight concluded his video by urging people to seek the truth and not be misled, emphasizing that those who understand the truth see through the lies.
As of now, Angelina Jolie has not responded to her father’s comments. The actress, known for her humanitarian efforts, has a history of speaking out on global issues but has faced criticism for her stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Jolie is not the only celebrity expressing views on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Other notable figures, including Gal Gadot, Natalie Portman, and Amy Schumer, have voiced their support for Israel following the recent attack by Hamas.
