Director Nag Ashwin’s recent sci-fi epic, Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, is steadily becoming a box office phenomenon. The film, which opened to an explosive start, saw a significant 60% drop in collections on Monday. However, it still managed to pull in impressive numbers on its fifth day, maintaining its strong performance across various language markets.
According to Sacnilk, the film’s Hindi version performed robustly, garnering Rs 16.5 crore. The Telugu version followed suit with a substantial Rs 14.5 crore. The Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions added Rs 2 crore, Rs 0.3 crore, and Rs 1.3 crore, respectively. Cumulatively, Kalki 2898 AD has amassed Rs 343.6 crore over its first five days, with the Telugu version leading at Rs 182 crore, followed by Hindi at Rs 128 crore, Tamil at Rs 20.3 crore, Kannada at Rs 2.1 crore, and Malayalam at Rs 11.2 crore.
Originally titled Project K, Kalki 2898 AD merges elements of the Hindu epic Mahabharata with science fiction, creating a unique cinematic experience. Produced on a reported budget of Rs 600 crore, it stands as the most expensive film in Indian cinema history.

In its first weekend, the film crossed the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide, solidifying its status as a blockbuster. Alongside its leading cast, Kalki 2898 AD also features Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana in significant roles.
