Following the re-release of Mohanlal’s cult classic ‘Devadoothan,’ movie enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the enhanced version of another iconic film, ‘Manichitrathazhu.’ This beloved psychological thriller, originally released in 1993, is set to make a comeback in theaters with a new 4K remastered version and Dolby Atmos sound.
The recent preview screening of the 4K remastered ‘Manichitrathazhu’ saw notable attendees including Tamil actor Karthi and acclaimed actress Shobana, who starred in the original film. A photo of Karthi and Shobana exiting the screening has surfaced on social media, sparking excitement among fans who are keenly anticipating the film’s return.
The re-release of ‘Manichitrathazhu’ is scheduled for August 17, aligning with the Chingam festival. Directed by Fazil, the film boasts a stellar cast including Suresh Gopi, Shobana, and Mohanlal. It tells the story of Nakulan (played by Suresh Gopi) and Ganga (played by Shobana) as they move into their ancestral mansion and encounter eerie occurrences believed to be caused by a haunting. Mohanlal’s portrayal of Dr. Sunny Joseph, a psychiatrist, enriches the film’s gripping narrative.
