Thalapathy Vijay’s “Leo: Bloody Sweet” enjoys a massive opening, projected to earn around Rs 145 crore globally on its first day, with Rs 68 crore from India alone. The film’s success is led by its impressive performance in the United States, where it garnered over $1.5 million. “Leo” reunites Vijay with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and features a unique ensemble cast, including three directors-turned-actors. The film is a part of Lokesh’s Cinematic Universe, drawing parallels to Hollywood’s “A History of Violence.”

It has already got the biggest opening for a Kollywood film across the globe. Sacnilk is expecting the film to make no less than Rs 145 crore on day 1 across the globe, of which Rs 68 crore will be coming from India itself.
The film is expected to make about Rs 32 crore in Tamil Nadu, Rs 12.50 crore in Kerala, Rs 14.50 crore in Karnataka, Rs 17 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana belt and Rs 4 crore from the rest of India.The film is having a limited release in Hindi and in North India due to the four-week hold over period.
Of Rs 145 crore, Rs 65 crore is expected from around the globe of which the United States of America is leading from the front where it has made more than $1.5million (Rs 12.5 crore). It has become the second highest premiere day for a Tamil film, and second highest premiere day post-Covid across Indian films after RRR.
The makers of the film recently released a 2-minute, 43-second trailer that offered a glimpse into the film’s narrative, showcasingLokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial prowess in crafting intense action sequences and Vijay doing what he does best—action! Vijay will be seen playing a double role in the film, while Lokesh has still kept the details of his second character a secret.
Leo stars Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Gautam Vasudev Menon, and Anurag Kashyap, and it is carrying a lot of buzz and excitement for multiple reasons.
