Renowned actors Ridhima Ghosh and Gaurav Chakrabarty recently took a trip down memory lane to revisit the place where their love story began 13 years ago. The couple, who shared their first encounter during the script reading of the film “Rang Milanti” at Kaushik Ganguly’s house on September 5, 2010, reminisced about the significant moment that sparked their love.
According to Ridhima, the pivotal moment occurred on October 28 during the film’s first shot in front of the Palladian porch at Prinsep Ghat. With a smile, she shared, “It was on October 28, during the film’s first shot in front of the Prinsep Ghat Palladian porch when we felt the first spark of love.” Gaurav added, “It was also my first film shot ever, and I was glad that I had Ridhima for company in that nerve-wracking moment. She gave me a sense of comfort.”
The couple emphasized the role of Kolkata in their love story, as 80% of “Rang Milanti” was shot in the city. They fondly recalled visiting iconic locations such as Southern Avenue, Lake Gardens, Prinsep Ghat, Deshapriya Park, Vivekananda Park for phuchkas, and a cafe on Southern Avenue for sandwiches during their time together.
Reflecting on how their relationship evolved, Ridhima stated, “We started as friends and became best friends while shooting for Rang Milanti. Neither of us realized when it turned into love. We were in a relationship while shooting for the last leg of the film. It was quite organic (laughs)!”
Gaurav reminisced about his proposal to Ridhima after seven years of dating, saying, “I proposed to Ridhima before our marriage. I went down on my knees on the top of the hills to do it.”
As the couple shared their thoughts on celebrating Valentine’s Day, Gaurav admitted to having zero knowledge about the occasion initially. Ridhima, on the other hand, emphasized celebrating love whenever the opportunity arises.
The article concludes with quotes from the couple, with Ridhima expressing plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day and Saraswati Puja with their son, Dheer, while Gaurav recalled their initial Valentine’s Day celebration and how Ridhima took charge from the second one.
The couple, despite their differences, acknowledged the positive influence they have had on each other, with Gaurav stating, “We are poles apart, but because of Ridhima, I learnt to live life in a fun way. We’ve undoubtedly brought out the best in each other.”
