In a turn of events for the much-anticipated film ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban,’ featuring Mohanlal and directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, the box office performance is witnessing a gradual decline in revenue. On its 16th day in cinemas, the movie managed to accumulate a modest Rs 10 lakhs, signaling a challenging journey at the box office.
According to recent reports, data from Pro Movies website reveals that the total collection for ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ in India stands at approximately 14.57 Crore Net within 16 days of its release. The India Net Collection contributes around 14.57 Cr, with the Gross Collection reaching about 17.40 Crore. The film has also made a mark in the overseas market, securing an Overseas Collection of around 12 Crore, bringing the Worldwide Collection to a sum of 29.40 Crore.
Despite an impressive screen count in India, boasting 4200+, the film’s performance falls short of the budgetary expectations. Overseas Screen Counts stand at 300+, contributing to a Worldwide Screen Count of 4500+. To achieve a ‘Hit’ status, ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ needs to surpass the 65 Crore mark, while aiming for an ‘Average’ label requires crossing 55 Crore. Notably, the film’s overall budget is estimated to be around 65 Crore.
