Actress Mandira Bedi recently opened up about her journey of adopting her daughter Tara Bedi Kaushal with her late husband Raj Kaushal. In a heartfelt interview, she revealed that prior to getting married, she had expressed her desire to adopt a child alongside having a biological one. Mandira shared that due to professional commitments and family circumstances, she postponed motherhood initially but eventually embraced it wholeheartedly. After having her son Veer, she decided to pursue adoption, a process that took three years.
Recalling the adoption process, Mandira mentioned the challenges they faced and their willingness to adopt from any part of India. The couple finally received photos of Tara, born in Tikamgarh, Jabalpur, and made the decision to bring her into their family during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mandira fondly remembered the moment Tara arrived by private jet, emphasizing how circumstances aligned for her adoption.
Initially, Veer, Mandira’s son, was hesitant about having a sibling, but over time, they bonded like typical siblings. Mandira shared the emotional rollercoaster of introducing Tara into their lives and how their family dynamics evolved.
Tragically, Mandira’s husband Raj passed away in 2021, leaving her to navigate parenthood alone. Despite the loss, Mandira remains strong for her children, remembering Raj fondly and cherishing the memories they created together.
