Kannada actress Manvita Kamath is set to tie the knot with music producer Arun Kumar on May 1, and she believes that her late mother played a pivotal role in bringing them together.
“My matrimonial profile was being shared with friends and family in our community by Amma because it was her biggest dream to see me married,” said Manvita, adding that her mother had interacted with Arun’s mother before her untimely demise.
Arun’s mother, unaware of the arrangement, attempted to contact Manvita’s mother without success. However, they did manage to obtain Manvita’s contact details. “Arun’s mom didn’t know about this and kept trying to reach Amma, but in vain. But they did manage to get my number, and here we are now,” she said with a smile.
One significant detail that caught Manvita’s attention was that Arun shares the same birth date with her late mother. “That was my first sign. Also, we have mutual friends who told me he’s into music. It meant something to me since I’m a huge music lover,” she shared.
Taking the next step, Manvita, accompanied by her aunt, visited Mysuru to meet Arun’s family. “They are all sweet, and Arun’s a wonderful human being too. I am extremely glad that a match arranged by Amma has reached fruition,” she added.
The wedding festivities will kick off with a haldi and carnival on April 29, followed by phool muddi and sangeet on April 30. “We will have a traditional Konkani wedding on May 1,” shared Manvita. “My bride squad has been prepping for the sangeet and I’m busy coordinating with my aunts about all the finer details,” she concluded.
The wedding ceremony is set to take place in Mangaluru.
