In a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, global pop sensation Mariah Carey disclosed some surprising details about her life, including the fact that she has been without a driver’s license for the past seven years. Carey explained, “I don’t have a license because I let it expire. I did have one, and then I left where I was living. I was living in the city, and you don’t really want to drive in Manhattan. Well, I don’t.”
Upon realizing her license had expired, Carey faced the prospect of retaking the driving test. The singer, known for hits like “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” expressed her reluctance, and host Jennifer Hudson shared her sentiment, saying, “I don’t think I’d pass if I took the test again.” Carey responded with agreement, stating, “That’s what I’m saying!”
While Carey plans to renew her license, for now, she prefers relying on others to drive her. She explained, “If there were one street that I could say, ‘OK, this is a safe street for me to drive,’ I would do that. But it’s just better for me to go with somebody in the car and not drive, but I can drive.”
In another surprising revelation, Carey confessed to not owning any sneakers. When asked about the most casual item in her closet, she humorously shared, “Probably some hideous slides that someone made me purchase because I don’t own sneakers.” Hudson, seemingly shocked, inquired, “You don’t?” Carey confirmed, explaining that she tends to get blisters on the back of her foot from sneakers.
During the interview, Carey also discussed her holiday preparations, acknowledging her tendency to go overboard with festive decorations.
