In a recent interview with The Sun on Sunday, Kayti Edwards, the ex-girlfriend of the late Matthew Perry, has come forward with disturbing revelations about the actor’s persistent struggles with drug addiction. Perry, best known for his role in “Friends,” tragically passed away in October at the age of 54.
Edwards disclosed incidents from their time together, painting a grim picture of Perry’s addiction even after periods of sobriety. She recounted finding him in a distressed state, having used superglue on his hands, presumably under the influence of substances like crack cocaine. Despite Perry’s efforts to stay clean and undergo rehabilitation, Edwards claimed that he continued to contemplate taking drugs.
Addressing Perry’s untimely demise, Edwards expressed skepticism about the official cause of death, which was reported as accidental drowning in a hot tub. She questioned the circumstances, suggesting the possibility of pill consumption in the days leading up to the tragedy.
While authorities found no drugs at the scene and ruled out foul play, Edwards remained suspicious, particularly after observing Perry’s final social media post. The actor referred to himself as ‘Mattman,’ an alter ego associated with his Batman obsession, which Edwards alleged only surfaced when Perry was intoxicated.
Edwards, who dated Perry in the late 2000s, shared insights into the actor’s affinity for water during periods of drug use. She recounted an incident where Perry was found naked and intoxicated in his neighbor’s swimming pool, highlighting a recurring pattern of seeking water-related activities while under the influence.
As the investigation into Matthew Perry’s death continues, these revelations shed light on the complex challenges he faced throughout his life, navigating the highs and lows of addiction.
