Dacoit: A Love Story starring Adivi Sesh has been making quite the buzz since it was speculated that Shruti Haasan has walked out of the project. Now, it seems the actress has been replaced by Mrunal Thakur, marking her subsequent project in Telugu after The Family Star.
In a recent post shared by Sesh on X (formerly Twitter), the actor penned the post, “Thanani kaapadina…Kaani odhilesinaadhi…Thanu ento…asalevaro…Repu thelsosthaadhi,” with the official announcement coming on December 17, 2024, at 11:30 am. The post also had an intriguing poster featuring only the actress’ eyes.
As announced earlier, the Adivi Sesh starrer Dacoit: A Love Story was initially supposed to feature Shruti Haasan as the lead. The makers even unveiled a special first look featuring the actors and even dropped a glimpse of the duo.
Despite the makers unveiling the teaser for Dacoit: A Love Story with both the actors, it was later reported that Shruti Haasan had walked out of the project. As per a report by CineJosh, the film’s makers and Shruti had creative differences which led her to walk out of the project.
Additionally, there have also been reports that Shruti exited the project due to Adivi Sesh allegedly controlling the project and its making. Whatever the reason may be, now it seems that we’ll get to see Mrunal Thakur playing the lead role as she co-stars with Sesh in this romantic action drama, directed by Shaneil Deo.
Talking about Mrunal Thakur’s work front, the actress was recently exclusively reported by Pinkvilla as being in talks to feature as a lead in Prabhas’ Spirit. According to sources, the Sita Ramam actress is being considered to play the lead role in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial.
On the other hand, Shruti Haasan is currently in the works on the movie, Coolie starring superstar Rajinikanth. The film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj also has actors Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and many more in key roles.
