Venkatesh Prasad, a fast bowling consultant with the Cricket Association of Bengal, was met with a delightful surprise when he stepped out of his hotel in Kolkata on Sunday morning. His wife, Jayanthi Prasad, had traveled from Bengaluru to greet him in the hotel lobby ahead of his birthday. “It was truly a one-of-its-kind surprise,” Prasad remarked. Following the surprise, the couple visited the Kalighat Kali Temple to seek blessings. Prasad described the experience as one of the best darshans, praising the temple’s positive and amazing atmosphere.
Reflecting on his spiritual journey, Prasad attributes part of it to his upbringing and self-awareness. “As time goes by, you start becoming aware of yourself. I was never a party person. I love going to temples, not to ask God for anything, because I’ve been blessed with a lot of wonderful things, and not to complain, but to show my gratitude,” he explained.
In his role with the Cricket Association of Bengal, Prasad is involved in training young cricketers. When discussing the new generation, he highlighted the valuable lessons they could learn from seniors. “There’s so much that we can learn from them—whether it’s smartness, technology, or their way of thinking. However, one thing this generation needs to understand is the importance of patience and hard work. They need to realize that nothing comes easy in life, and that challenges are part of the journey,” Prasad noted.
