In exciting news for fans of Malayalam cinema, the blockbuster hit ‘Premalu’ is set to return with a sequel in 2025. The romantic comedy, which starred Naslen and Mamitha Baiju, was a massive success, reportedly grossing Rs 135.9 crore worldwide.
The announcement of ‘Premalu 2’ was made by the film’s producers on social media. Sharing a note on Instagram, they said, “The Biggest RomCom blockbuster ever in Malayalam Cinema will be back in 2025! Let’s Premalu2.”
Directed by Girish AD, ‘Premalu’ is a delightful romantic comedy set in the vibrant backdrop of Hyderabad. The on-screen chemistry between Naslen and Mamitha Baiju received much acclaim, capturing the hearts of audiences across the board. The film also features a talented supporting cast including Althaf Salim, Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, Sangeeth Prathap, and Shameer Khan.
Co-scripted by the director and Kiran Josey, ‘Premalu’ was initially released on February 9, coinciding with the Valentine’s Day season, and is currently available for streaming on OTT platforms.
