In a recent interview with a regional YouTube channel, Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui expressed regret over his Tamil film debut in ‘Petta,’ which featured superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role and was directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
Siddiqui revealed that he felt guilty about accepting payment for a role in which he didn’t fully comprehend the language. He admitted to feeling like he had deceived everyone by charging a higher fee for a role where he was primarily lip-syncing without a complete understanding of the dialogues.
The actor explained that despite shooting alongside Rajinikanth, he struggled with the language barrier, as he couldn’t grasp many words. Siddiqui, speaking in Hindi, stated that he charged more for his role in the Tamil film, leading to his sense of guilt.
‘Petta,’ an action drama, features a star-studded cast including Rajinikanth, Sasikumar, Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran, and Megha Akash.
Learning from his ‘Petta’ experience, Siddiqui shared that he applied those lessons to his Telugu debut in ‘Saindhav,’ where he starred alongside Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead role. Notably, he took on the challenge of doing his own dubbing for the Telugu film.
