The novelty popcorn bucket market has a new contender. Joining the ranks of buckets from Dune and Deadpool & Wolverine is a fresh design from the upcoming Alien: Romulus. Cinemark has unveiled the popcorn bucket, which takes the form of a Xenomorph head, complete with its distinctive elongated cranium. The bucket is designed so that popcorn is loaded from the top, and the moviegoer can insert their arm through the bottom.
Fede Álvarez, known for Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, is directing this latest installment in the franchise. The cast features Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), David Jonsson (Murder is Easy), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (Aftersun), and newcomer Aileen Wu. They portray a group of young space colonizers who encounter the infamous Xenomorph.
This marks the first new entry in the franchise since Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant in 2017. Alien: Romulus is set in the timeline between Alien and Aliens.
