Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, currently engaged in promoting his upcoming cricket drama ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ alongside Janhvi Kapoor, recently shared insights into a personal ritual inherited from his late mother, Kamal Yadav, who passed away in 2016.
In an interview with Curly Tales, Rao revealed his commitment to fasting every Friday, a tradition he adopted from his mother’s devotion to Santoshi Maa. Beginning at the age of 16, this practice has remained integral to his life, despite the passing of his mother.
Acknowledging the challenges of maintaining this tradition amidst a demanding schedule, Rao detailed how he often adjusts his meals, sometimes skipping them entirely or consuming a single meal at night, especially during promotional activities or filming.
Rao’s profound connection with his mother was evident during his wedding to Patralekhaa in 2021, as he shared a touching tribute to her, expressing his eternal love and gratitude.
Additionally, he regularly commemorates his mother’s passing anniversary with heartfelt messages, emphasizing the enduring influence of maternal love in his life.
Amidst personal reflections, Rao remains committed to his professional endeavors, with ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ slated for release on May 31st.
