Chidambaram’s directorial venture, “Manjummel Boys,” featuring stellar performances by Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy, and Jean Paul Lal, has officially set its release date. Following the anticipation-building trailer, the filmmakers have now confirmed that “Manjummel Boys” is scheduled to hit cinemas on February 22nd.
Taking to social media, the team shared the announcement, stating, “Boys are coming. @manjummelboysthemovie releasing worldwide on February 22nd, 2024.”
Directed by Chidambaram, the film is inspired by a real-life rescue effort of a young man trapped in the Guna caves, also known as Devil’s Kitchen, in Kodaikanal. The storyline revolves around a group of young individuals embarking on a vacation trip to Kodaikanal, unaware of the unforeseen events awaiting them during their visit to the Guna cave. Despite initial expectations of a lighthearted entertainer, the gripping trailer suggests a suspenseful thriller.
Handling the technical aspects of the film are Shyju Khalid as the cinematographer, Vivek Harshan as the editor, and Sushin Shyam as the music composer. Ajayan Chalissery serves as the art director, Mashar Hamsa as the costume designer, and Ronex Xavier as the makeup artist.
The recently released trailer has successfully generated significant buzz among moviegoers, and the confirmed release date has only intensified expectations for this edge-of-the-seat thriller.
