In a somber turn of events, the Malayalam film industry is in mourning following the demise of veteran filmmaker Vinu at the age of 69. The renowned director passed away peacefully in Coimbatore on Wednesday morning. Vinu, known for his notable collaborations with director Suresh, had played a pivotal role in shaping the cinematic landscape with his impactful storytelling.
Among their celebrated works is the iconic film ‘Mangalam Veettil Manasesweri Gupta,’ featuring lead actors Jayaram and Vani Viswanath. The creative synergy between Vinu and Suresh continued with ‘Kusruthikaatu,’ a film marked by a screenplay penned by J. Pallassery, showcasing their finesse in storytelling. Their final joint endeavor, ‘Kanichukulangarayil CBI,’ starring Manoj K Jayan, unfolded a gripping murder mystery, showcasing their adeptness in crafting compelling narratives.

Hailing from Kozhikode but having made Coimbatore his home for several years, Vinu’s demise marks the end of an era. His cremation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10.
