In a surprising turn of events, actor Simbu, who had previously committed to starring in the film ‘Corona Kumar’ directed by Gokul, has exited the project. The movie, which has been in limbo for the past two years due to a feud between the production house and Simbu, is finally set to resume production with a new lead.
According to reports from India Glitz, Vishnu Vishal is slated to replace Simbu in the film, although official confirmation is still pending from the makers. The shooting for ‘Corona Kumar’ is expected to commence next month. The movie is said to be a spin-off of Gokul’s earlier work, ‘Idharkuthane Aasaipatai Balakumara,’ which featured Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. Previous speculations suggested that Vijay Sethupathi might make a cameo appearance in ‘Corona Kumar.’
Vishnu Vishal, who was last seen in ‘Lal Salaam,’ has not only taken over the lead role in ‘Corona Kumar’ but has also signed up for another project with director Gokul under his own banner, Vishnu Vishal Studios. The actor is anticipated to juggle both films simultaneously, with the new project set to kick off after the completion of ‘Corona Kumar.’
On Vishnu Vishal’s broader work horizon, he is currently involved in two more films, ‘Mohandas,’ which is in the post-production phase, and ‘Aaryan,’ where he is actively filming. Stay tuned for further updates as the developments unfold in the dynamic world of Tamil cinema.
